(Mar-Bal: Chagrin Falls, OH) is expanding its dedicated sales team with the addition of Blak Kat Group, LLC (Chagrin Falls, OH) for its proprietary Detectable Warning Systems™ (DWS) safety product line.
With a core commitment to sales growth in Ohio and bordering territorial states, the construction-focused rep group, headed by managing partners Kyle Torres and Brian Zak, will promote the line’s value-added innovation engineered for visually impaired pedestrians. Additionally, they will drive the market advancement for the growth and benefits of warning surface composites.
The addition of Blak Kat Group will allow DWS to penetrate deeper within both concrete and paving-focused entities at a very competitive cost to contractors, distributors, states, and municipalities. Market applications include: Public Rights of Way, Parking Structures, Health Care-Disability (including senior and assisted living facilities), Rail-Transport, Architecture, Infrastructure, Commercial Shopping Centers, Apartment Communities, etc. The key objective of the group will be promoting the benefits of both composite and flexible materials for either cast-in-place or surface applied applications including the following brands:

Blak Kat Group, LLC was established in 2018, and is the brainchild of President/Owner Kyle Torres. The group has since progressively fostered an impressive client base of leading industry product entities including: Chapin, ChemMasters, Kraft, Forta, Adhesive Technology, Truper, Collomix, American Wire Tie and now DWS.
A graduate of Miami University (Oxford, OH), Torres began his career in construction wholesale supply and has over twenty years of experience in the general concrete/construction/contractor industry. Key stops include seventeen years at Allied Dealers Supply Co. (Newbury, OH), including helping start a subsidiary company named Iron Man Supply (Newbury, OH)–which is now a Blak Kat client. As the lead sales partner, strategically located in Chagrin Falls, OH, Torres will focus his efforts in northeastern Ohio starting in Cleveland, down to Marietta, and outlying state territories.

BRIAN ZAK: MANAGING PARNTER
Strategically based in Perrysburg, OH, Brian Zak is Blak Kat’s Managing Partner responsible for DWS growth in northwestern Ohio, down to Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, and state peripherals. A graduate of Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, OH), he began in construction sales over fifteen years ago–including being a sales rep to Allied Dealers Supply Co. (Newbury, OH), where the business relationship between Zak and Torres began. About five years ago, Zak started his own rep agency, then recently merged his collaborative construction-based skill set with the Blak Kat Group.
According to Zak, “The DWS line is right in our wheelhouse as it’s a good product at a good price point. We have relationships with engineers and contractors in this market spanning over 15 years that we will leverage across distribution and selling direct. Ultimately, outstanding customer service will be the key to our success in expanding the multi-surface adhesive system line across market applications such as Parking Structures, Health Care-Disability, Rail-Transport, Retail, Universities/Education, etc.”
